Infared Thermography

Infrared cameras are precision scientific instruments and are not "point & shoot"! Only a properly trained and experienced thermographer can accurately interpret thermal images.

Infrared Thermography uses an infrared imaging and measurement camera to measure invisible infrared energy being emitted from an object. Detecting thermal patterns that are invisible to the naked eye, the thermographer is able to pinpoint problems and enable the performance of proactive repairs. Homesol uses a Flir B200 camera.

Many inspectors are using cheaper low-end thermographic cameras and claiming to be able to provide you with thermal imaging services, some of those people know almost nothing about thermography. The first question to ask any of our competitors with infrared cameras is "are you an ASTN Certified Thermographer?".

Although anyone can call themselves a thermographer without any formal training or qualifications, there are certain specific and fairly difficult requirements to becoming an American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Certified Thermographer. Ross is currently an ASTN Level I Thermographer with a speciality in Buildings, and is working on his 2300 field hours needed to complete his Level II Certification. Homesol trains with Snell Infrared and has logged thousands of infrared thermal images of buildings, including for water intrusion, insulation deficiency investigations and air infiltration / exfiltration detection.

Proper training, experience and capital-C Certification are required to get the most accurate information the thermal images can give us, you can count on Homesol for professional infrared thermography.
